Not just on my betting front but games have lacked passion,skill, talent or commitment so I really welcome the second round to see if people care or not. Its been such a damp first round with the Swiss being the highlights but honestly who had money on the Swiss?? so no ones enjoying that but the bookies then!
Managed to trade a little yesterday got about £13 so gradually building the balance back up after terrible ability in the football. A friend of mine came round last nite for a few beers and so we had a few gambles on the night races. Did ok as per above but he is definitely on form, managed to back a few good horses out of nothing more than liking the name. Took about £100 for the day, great work just goes to show when your good you don't need form! he was telling me about the online slots and showed me he has been taking a decent return but I have tried them before and I'm just not lucky, I also find they are a very quick way to loose lots of money as they can be so addictive looking for that next big winning spin.
Note to self do not get involved!!!
Well this may be a last post for a while as I am moving country and travelling for a bit, hope that Vegas is all its cracked up to be.
Will try and update on my fortunes around the world but till then....
Good lucky everybody for the next couple of months I hope you all make vast profits ....Myself included!

Footballs just not my game
Of all sports I trade on football is the one I have followed the longest and 'believe' I know the most on, therefore it is only natural that it is the one I seem to perform worst in, I reckon it could be my arrogance in thinking I know loads about it.
Yesterday confirmed my lack of ability in this loosing £5, I would have been up £12 but I got scared in the dreadful Netherlands Denmark game and so laid the over 1.5 market at terrible odds before the lucky dutch sneaked a second and very undeserved goal in.
So it was with that in mind I decided to go against my earlier predictions of an Italy win and so decided not to bet.
As it played out i am very thankful I did, ok I didn't win anything but after getting spank in the England game on sat maybe .....just maybe I am learning something here........
I traded a bit during the day on tennis and on the horses but only a few races and made a few pounds back so basically the days trading put me £1.60 up!!!! still as I have said before a day in profit however small is still a day in profit

My own worst enemy
After posting a nice bit about my profit for the week I stupidly didn't follow my own advice of steering clear of football and went in on the England match after the USA equalised. Greed got the better of me again and I took a £30 punt at evens at half time as I thought we would nick another in the next 45 and I would lay it off of 1.2 if it went back down, an easy 20 I thought but alas it wasn't to be.
The conspiracy side of my brain says it was massive PR exercise on how not to piss of the US in the light of the BP disaster?? Obama must have had a word with Capello during the game, well I'm not amused!!
Oh as I type some antipodean moron neighbour is learning how to play the vuvuzela over and over again which is probably why I am a little vexed! I'm not actually that annoyed at the result but I am contemplating investing in sniper rifle!!
Anyhow I am not going to chase this one or beat myself up about it too much, in fairness I thought it was the right bet to make so it wasn't too impulse or rash. Such is gambling and my ability to predict in the football! to take from it though I probably shouldn't have put half my bank down, that was a bit of a greedy move to try and win big. Oh well still in profit for the week just not quite as much!! got to be pleased with being up

I feel like I have been a bit petulant in the last couple of days which has led to a small loss when really I should just have kept clear and not got involved. I need to learn the lesson of patience.
Anyway still a great first week - thanks to rob the builder for my first comments and tips - need to build up a few contacts so not sure the best way to do this? but will soldier on

Heart not in it
Not really trading yesterday with any gusto as flat out at work. Tried a few silly trades at lunch as was not doing it properly and really wasting money so went back down to 60. Really stupid really as i should have just kept clear of everything if I wasn't going to do it properly. my heart was just not in it yesterday as had loads on my plate.
Very thankful I backed out of my Mexico bet before SA scored, lost my silly accumulator with William hill tho !!! lost it on the first game!! not sure I should play much more on football as it just seems to be more unpredictable than anything else.
saying this tho might put a substantial amount on Brazil north Korea as i don't think anything will get safer than that!!

Nice run of events
Had a challenging day with my very first big punt going the wrong way in the tennis melzer started playing terrible as soon as my money got involved!! trying to take learning's from the other day i soon decided again to back out taking an 10 pound hit if he won.
I then decided to try and hedge to hedge the loss so it was less all round but then after the match seemingly one sided affair it was going the oppositions way so i decided to get back in and luckily it paid off, Not much mind you to the tune of .28p but at least by the last serve I was square all round and hadn't taken a hit. not sure exactly what i learnt as it could have gone anyway but I suppose its a learning on in play trading and what potentially I can do with a Situation.
Tried a few horse races in the afternoon but got swamped with work so kept clear for a few hours.
That night tho i played about 4 races while waiting for somebody and seemed to have my luck in as all 4 in a row came in taking between 4-7 pounds from backing and laying. really pleased with that so now pushed the balance up to £68.
Really thinking of putting a decent amount on Mexico to spoil the party but I have found in the past i often loose money on football believing somehow i know better than most....unfortunately this isn't the case and most know better than me!!
I back too much football with heart than head. Right better go presentation to do and then a days World cup launch to enjoy.

Little one
After the relatively big loss the day before I was trying to be a bit more patient yesterday so only traded a little and got a good return on the tennis again so bump the balance up to £38 after winning another £10.
Got a tip about a horse at Beverley but if didn't even get close !! so much for the inside knowledge!!
Still had fun and glad to be turning a small profit, everyday in profit has to be a good one however small
Will try the tennis again today but will have to see what the trading is like once the big guns start lining up against each other.
Anyway Good luck all if you're having a flutter today.

Bad Day
*To start I took out 50 on some good advice so banked that.
Well it started off well with a few pounds here an there trading on tennis, got about 8 pounds before looking at Kolschriber against an unknown (well I didn't know him) and unranked Belgium. thought I would do well from this so put a fair bit on the German, was all going the right way got to match point twice and I managed to trade out ensuring profit if he won, then stupidly when he had a third match point I stupidly went in at 1.04 with everything i had left??? Greed i think got the best of me here and I was trying to make back £2 i lost on a race minutes before.
he proceeded to loose this one and 2 more match points!!!!
I was then watching the third and the money to lay way up to1.67 - 1.89 he was playing poor and the other guy looked calm and on a roll, so I decided I would cut my loses at the next available point, I traded out at 1.53 for the whole amount meaning i would loose 20 if the German went on to win.................of course at this point he then decided to finish thing and play miles better and proceeded to make the most of it and go on to win!!!
I couldn't work out what I was suppose to do on the way in as I looked at backing him in etc but by this point I am resigned to the fact that it was stupid to go in at 1.04, so didn't want to put more money on if hey then lost!
I think i did the right thing getting out just it proceeded not to be the right thing but hey ho that's gambling!!
If he went on to loose and I lost everything I would feel much much worse so stopping for today, got an earlier bet on Nieminen so hopefully he will play his socks off and my trade out will take.
any hints or tips from anyone much appreciated on how to get out of things like that? or whats a good tactic to minimise losses? all welcomed
So lost £18 today but learnt a good lesson I hope any will try to be disciplined next time

Good day
Pleased with today traded on tennis which is a new area to me, didn't start well as Laura Robson's opponent decided she couldn't be bothered so cost me £26 as it was with betfair not a bookie. Really gutted about that and thought about stopping as i didn't want to chase a loss
Made some back on various games often backing at around 1.4 to lay at 1.2, was putting on about 20-30 sometimes as much as 60 but I find myself fearing the big amounts more as dont want to loose it all.
Stopped at the Bogdanavic game as don't trust the Brits as they seem so inconsistent ...well apart from when their opponent retires!!
Then managed to trade a bit on the horses and got up to the magic 90 so thought i would go for the 100, managed to hit the big one and then had pone last flutter which left me on 99.43 which I am very pleased with.
Hoping to do more tennis trading tomorrow and pick up more of a feel for it but not sure how it goes once you get into the more professional and closer games, fingers crossed the gradual profit continues and I quite like betting on these markets are they are not as swift and decisive as horse races. Saying this the key is to keep grounded and not blow the lot being over confident or chasing a loss.
Need to make sure I keep my feet on the ground!! not nearly knowledgeable about it all yet so lets not get carried away

Softly Softly Catchy Small Profit Monkey
pleased with today was going to put loads on nadal 3 straight sets but got in and then out as i got scared in the first and chickened out!!
still managed to trade out a few pounds
they had a little flutter on the gg's to push the profit up so pleased to walk out with 80 for the close of play balance
i was up more about 83.40 but got silly and had a last min flutter on a horse that ran backwards
still really pleased to be up to 80 going to keep pushing and try not to be silly with this
think i will try more of this tennis betting, any hints or tips much appreciated thought i.e. what are most people trading on? sets?? outrights?? games??
also all those trading how much are you playing with? is it just repeat the process to get the balance up or bet big to win big??

Well dementiava pulled out rather strangely so lost the 7, managed to get a few lucky trades tho so got the balance up to 48, then stupidly raised my stake and so lost quicker stupid stuff really

Then backed chivas to beat ny in America but didn't come off so back down to 58
